The Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx)

For Students

CLIx improves and strengthens student learning and skills in areas considered critical for access to further educational and employment opportunities. It supplements the high school curriculum in key areas, namely digital literacy, Communicative English, Mathematics, the Science subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and Value Education. CLIx is being implemented in four states – Chhatisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Telangana, where it will be made available to approximately 1,65,000 high school students and some 4,200 teachers in over a 1,000 government schools.

For Teachers

Through the Teacher Professional Development (TPD) component integrated into all CLIx high school offerings, CLIx helps in-service teachers use contemporary information and communication technology to successfully teach the CLIx modules, enhances their effectiveness by placing relevant and accurate information at their disposal, and gives them pedagogical tools for deepening their own understanding of the subject matter and also for maximising children’s comprehension, thus creating a positive impact on both classroom practice and student learning.

For Policy Makers

CLIx aims to transform learning experiences in government secondary schools in under-served regions, through the optimal use of available resources and through partnerships with state governments and non-governmental organisations. Research and monitoring processes will measure the impact of the intervention on an ongoing basis, enabling course correction where necessary, and also opening up the possibility of replication and scale-up. CLIx is interested to dialogue with potential partners such as state governments and neighbouring countries to explore further possibilities.
