Activity 1: Looking at a Mobile Bill

mobile-usage

Mobile phones are now widely used in almost all homes. The users pay the charges for the calls made, SMS sent and data used. The charges of the mobile bill are determined by a tariff plan. A tariff plan gives you information about the charges applicable for each of the categories.
Given below is Suman's Mobile Bill and her tariff plan.

In the above mobile bill the usage and charges applicable for each category are given. These charges are calculated using the tariff plan and their sum is the total amount of the bill.

For example, in the bill above the voice calls are for 750 minutes, and the charges are 40 paise per minute. Hence the total amount for voice calls is

750 × 0.40 = ₹ 300.

Similarly, the amount for the other two categories are calculated. (Verify if this is correct!)
