Activity 4: Tasks for You

• Form an equation for each of the distance slabs.
• You have to decide 4 cities in India, which are not from your state. Find the distance to those cities from your town. Make a table for these cities and their distances from your place. Choose the cities so that they are not all in the same distance slab. For example, all your cities should not be within 200 km slab.
• Now you have to send a parcel to each city. The parcel weighs 2.4 kgs. Find out the charges for each parcel.
• You can also give the names of the cities and their distances to your friends along with the weight of the parcel and ask them to find the charges. You can verify these charges with your calculations.
• Additional activity: Once you have found the charges for the parcel, you can figure out the different denominations of stamps that will be required to pay for this. Find out the various denominations of the stamps available. Inhow many different ways can you use the stamps of different denominations to pay for each of the parcels??
